Event Details

The Austin Chapter of the High Technology Crime Investigators Association invites you to an April Training event.  SR Technologies will be presenting a 1 day workshop on 802.11x Exploitation. 

Check out the agenda below: 

Time Topic
08:00am - 09:15am Introduction to wireless.  Review of 802.11x standards and the impact to Law Enforcement and Public Safety.
09:15am - 09:30am Break
09:30am - 11:00pm Review of open-source tools, i.e. Aircrack, Kismet, WiFiFoFum.  Hands on use to identify clients and access points in the immediate area, use of the open-source tools to geo-locate specific client.
11:00pm - 12:00pm Lunch
12:00pm - 01:15pm Review of Shadow and Cardinal.  Hands on use to identify clients and access points in the immediate area, use of purpose built devices to locate clients and access points.
01:15pm - 01:30pm Break
01:30pm - 02:30pm Cardinal (Vehicular) to locate specific access point & client.  Close in with
Shadow in public café of some sort.
02:30pm - 03:30pm Use of Cerberus for target identification (Vehicular), dismount to target and
geo-locate suspect.
03:30pm - 04:00pm  Conclusion.  Review technologies and Q&A from students.

Do to the limited amount of seats available active HTCIA members will be given precedence.  It is important that you provide a member number.  All member numbers submitted will be verified.  If you do not know your number send us an email and we will get it for you.

If you plan to join our chapter you will need to submit a completed application along with your application fee at a meeting in February or March to be eligible for the member’s price.

If you are a non-member and your registration is cancelled.  You will be contacted and issued a refund.
